Hi, my name is Terri Xiang and I am the owner
and teacher of the home-based preschool - 77PlaySchool which is
registered with State of Texas.
I was born and raised in northern China, a native Mandarin Chinese language speaker. I received my degree in Education from China, and then Montessori Teaching Certification for 3-6 years old from North American Montessori Center. I have over ten years experience working with children both in China and US. In addition, I continue my education in the child care profession by attending a minimum of 20 hours training per year.
I am a member of North American Montessori Teacher's Association; Chinese School Association in the United States; American Council for Teaching Foreign language; Chinese Language Teacher Association of Texas.
77PlaySchool Offers:
~Mandarin Program
Children are introduced to Mandarin through the activities such as games, singing, Chinese rhymes, poems, art and crafts, free play time, and meal time. This approach leads to a more rapid Mandarin acquisition over the first few months. We also use the “Kuai Le Tian Di” as curriculum to aid in the learning of Mandarin. By the end of their first year, children will understand and participate in many activities in Mandarin only. They will also be able to use the language to express themselves for common classroom activities and for personal needs. Students over the age of four will learn Chinese characters ( Simplified ) and writing those characters which have less than 4 strokes.
幼儿园招收2岁半至5岁学龄前儿童，每日以游戏的方式，有组织的教授语言，手工，音乐，唐诗，儿歌, 算术等内容，同时我们使用少儿出版社的幼儿学习簿“快乐天地”专家版为辅助教材，以帮助孩子提高综合素质。我们注重培养孩子良好的动手能力及集体活动能力，努力为孩子创造一个宽松，宽容的空间， 培养快乐，负责及富有创造力的孩子.四岁以上的孩子增加中文认字及四画以下的按笔顺规范汉字书写（简体）
~English Program
...Taught by Tracie James. Mrs. James is currently a Texas Certified Teacher and holds a bachelor's degree in music education.
In our classroom instruction, we use Funshine Express as the English curriculum. It provides reading, music, art, science, math and cooking classes around preschool appropriate themes. We also supplement our curriculum with “Hooked on Phonics”. Students over the age of four will work on phonics blending to help them prepare for kindergarten.
~Meals
Breakfast - We offer breakfast each day. Chinese style breakfast served on
M/W/F (Wanton, Steamed Buns, Noodle, Chinese pancake, 馄饨，豆沙包，面条，薄饼). American style breakfast
served on T/TH (French toast,
Muffin, Cereal, Pancake, Waffle).
Lunch
– At this moment, we only offer lunch one week per month (this is
scheduled for the last week of each month). On the other days student
need to bring his/her own lunch to school.
Snacks
– morning and afternoon snacks are offered each day.
